At a glance

Yameen Qureshi is a consultant psychiatrist and expert witness, dually accredited in General Adult and Addiction Psychiatry, and lead clinician at the Priory Hospital Glasgow. Solicitors instruct him on both sides of a case, for pursuers and for defenders. He needed a website that would make him easy to find, establish his standing in seconds and make instructing him simple. We replaced his old site with a focused, typographic build, set up a dedicated instructions inbox, and launched it with on-page SEO and Search Console indexing in place.

The client

Dr Qureshi holds a Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, a master's degree in alcohol and drug addiction, and a Certificate of Accreditation as a Civil Expert Witness from Aberdeen University. He spent twelve years as a consultant psychiatrist with NHS Lanarkshire and now works from an office in Glasgow city centre.

His medico-legal work is predominantly civil, with criminal, family and immigration instructions also considered. He also reports for professional regulators on fitness to practise matters.

The brief

“Simple and brutally effective. Not flash.”

— Dr Yameen Qureshi

The site had one job: establish Dr Qureshi as an experienced consultant psychiatrist expert witness in Scotland, acting for pursuers and defenders, and make him easy for solicitors to find and instruct.

Independence first
The site had to read as impartial, credible and calm, with nothing that looked like marketing.
Discretion
No photographs, no fee schedule and no caseload figures, anywhere on the site.
Accuracy
Only the work he actually accepts. Anything he does not do had to go.
Easy to maintain
Key details held in one place, so updates are quick and consistent.

Our approach

Five project stages: audit, draft before quote, focused brief, page-by-page review, launch
  1. 01

    Audit

We reviewed the existing site, the Scottish medico-legal market and how solicitors search for an expert. The clearest opportunity was the distinction between psychiatry and psychology: a medically qualified opinion on diagnosis, treatment and prognosis is what many instructing solicitors are specifically looking for, and the old site did not make that plain.

  2. 02

    Draft before quote

Rather than send a proposal, we built a working draft on a preview link. Dr Qureshi could judge real pages before committing to anything.

  3. 03

    Focused brief

Busy clinicians do not have time for long forms. We sent a short first round of questions and asked the rest only when they became relevant.

  4. 04

    Page-by-page review

Dr Qureshi reviewed every page in detail through voice notes. His steer was consistent: simplify, remove repetition across pages, and cut anything he does not actually do. Each round made the site shorter and sharper.

  5. 05

    Launch

We set up his domain email, completed on-page SEO, submitted the sitemap to Google Search Console, optimised page speed, and moved the site onto managed hosting.

Discretion, designed in

Three things deliberately kept off the site: photographs, fee schedule and caseload numbers

An expert witness is judged on independence, and a website can quietly undermine that. Dr Qureshi asked for three things to stay off the site entirely: photographs of himself, a fee schedule, and any figures on how much work he takes on.

Rather than leave gaps, we designed around them. Authority comes from credentials, accreditation and typography instead of a headshot. Fees are left for the instruction stage, so every page leads with expertise. Experience is shown through roles and qualifications, never volume.

Built around the questions a solicitor asks

The five questions an instructing solicitor asks, and where the site answers each

An instructing solicitor arrives with five questions: who is he, is he qualified, will he take my case, how long will it take, and how do I instruct him. The site answers each one in that order, without wading through repetition.

The homepage opens with a plain statement of who he is and a credentials panel covering specialty, fellowship, work accepted, report turnaround and office location. Turnaround is stated up front: reports within two to four weeks of assessment, with urgent instructions considered.

On mobile, the same hierarchy holds, and the instruction form asks only what is needed to get a case moving: the instructing solicitor, which side they act for, the type of matter and a contact email. Every instruction lands in one dedicated inbox.

Under the bonnet

A professional practice site lives or dies on whether it can be found. The launch included the groundwork for that.

On-page SEO
Unique titles, meta descriptions and a clean heading structure aimed at searches for psychiatric expert witnesses in Scotland and Glasgow.
Structured data
Schema markup describing the practice, its location and its medical specialty, so search engines understand what the site is.
Search Console
Sitemap submitted and indexing requested at launch.
Speed
Lean pages, compressed assets and a mobile-first build for quick loading on any connection.
Domain email
instructions@insightmedicolegal.co.uk set up end to end, replacing a personal mailbox for instructions.
Hosting
Twelve months of managed hosting included.

What was delivered

Eight deliverables included in the project

The new site is live at insightmedicolegal.co.uk. Dr Qureshi now has a website that states who he is in one line, proves it in five, and gives solicitors a single, clear route to instruct him.
